Yoga Nidra
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra, also known as "yogic sleep," is a deeply relaxing practice designed to guide you into a state of conscious rest.
It works on your Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Bodies, helping you return to Balance and Harmony.
Unlike regular sleep, Yoga Nidra allows you to access a state of Deep Relaxation while remaining aware, encouraging healing and regeneration on all levels.
The Stages of Yoga Nidra
Opening Stages:
Position and Preliminary Adjustment of the Body: Find a comfortable lying position and make any necessary adjustments for relaxation.
Preliminary Relaxation of the Body: Gently release tension throughout your body, allowing it to relax fully.
Preliminary Relaxation of the Mind through Breath Awareness: Focus on your breath, helping the mind settle and calm.
Sankalpa (Resolve): Set a positive intention or affirmation for yourself, which will guide your practice and create lasting change.
Rotation of Awareness: Your awareness is gently guided through different parts of the body, relaxing each area in turn, bringing both mental focus and physical relaxation.
Breath Awareness: Focus on the natural rhythm of your breath, helping to deepen relaxation and restore inner balance.
Pairs of Opposites: Experience contrasting sensations (e.g., hot and cold), which helps release emotional tension and create a sense of inner peace.
Visualization: You are guided through visualizations that help clear the mind, release suppressed emotions, and promote inner clarity.
Sankalpa (Repeat): The practice ends with the repetition of your Sankalpa (intention), reinforcing its power and setting it into your subconscious.
Externalization: Slowly return to external awareness, gently reconnecting with your surroundings and preparing to end the practice.
Each stage is practiced one after the other, allowing the body and mind to relax and reset deeply.
